YEAR 2001:
This year begin kinda rocky, but it started to
pick up by end of January. Lots of snow trips to go boarding in Tahoe from
Jan thru March. Little mini-vacations down to LA, Tahoe trips, and of
course, the big ole' vacation to China in Dec. Not much pics during the
summer due to work, but once I switched jobs, it got less hectic and the fun
started again. Be sure to check out the crazy Halloween contest!
Here's the comments from 'Shawn Speaks'

Happy Thanksgiving! Ok, it's a little late, but I
was busy during the holiday season. I was setting up PooMail -
Poohead.net's email server. Got it to work, but still having some
technical issues, mostly with the Outlook Web Access. I figure
that once I get this to work right then we can stop flooding everyone's
mailboxes with duplicate conversation strings, so people like Mai won't
keep running out of mailbox space. To help facilitate easier
access to email, I've added new links to the left sidebar. Oh, if
you want an email account @poohead.net, send
me an email with the following info: First, Last name,
username (same as email name), Home address (optional), home & cell
numbers (optional, but useful), and birthday (optional, but wouldn't it
be nice if people remembered, even if it's because they were reminded by
my email system?). You get 500MB of email space (about 250 times
more than Hotmail) with web access calendaring, notes, and a whole bunch
of other features that I'll put in place once I learn how.
Other than that, I played Empire Earth for like a whole day straight
over the holidays. Pretty relaxing. |

Ok, this is starting to turn out to be a monthly
newsletter type of thing now. Well, it's because work is finally
starting to get busy and I haven't had much of a chance to update my
site. Besides this site, I'm trying to bring an email server online, but
I realize that my upload bandwidth might now be able to handle the
volume that my friends and i generate on a daily basis. oh, well.
Man, recently I just got a 5% paycut and at the same time, my ESPP plan
started and it really killed my paycheck! I feel so poor now, but
at least we got our rent reduced to $1750 down $100. It's weird, I just
realized that I haven't bought anything big for the past three
months! Kinda odd for me, but then I thought, what the heck do I
need anyways? So, instead, I took my spare change and went gambled
on stocks in a falling market and tried to do some bottom-feeding,
hoping something might skyrocket from the lows and make me enough money
for me to buy.....whatever I want! Maybe I'll invest in a faster
internet connection!
Well, snow season coming along. Hopefully we have lots of
snow this year in the Tahoe area, so that we could all have a good
snowboarding season. This time, I'm going to bring the digital
camera on the slopes, so that I can get more pics of people actually
snowboarding, instead of a whole bunch of pictures just with people with
their boards. Ok, I think I typed enough of an essay this time
around. Chat you later! |

Hmmm...exactly 7 months later, I get around to finally
doing something with my website again. This is due to the lack of
broadband to my residence which kept me from working on my site.
Anyways, after getting ATT cable modem, I've installed a wireless
network at home and upgraded my server. However, my upload speed
has been severely limited at 128kps, so my site is probably slower.
Anyways, I've updated the Photo Album section (primary purpose of
this site) to include stuff since March. I still got some more to
scan in, but that will take a little longer to do. Check
back later! |

Damn.....I keep forgetting to update this section when I
make changes to my website. Oh well. Anyways, the Photo
Album has undergone some serious additions, check it out if you haven't
done so for a while or if you just want to waste some time. Also,
Computer section has been updated and more Links has been
added.
As for me, after being laid off by Opentable, I'm now employed by
Teksystems as a Technical Professional (ie, full-time consultant).
I'm on assignment at Cooper Interaction as their Interim IT
Manager. Besides that, I've been doing a lot of snowboarding,
check the Photo Album for pictures. That's it! More later!!! |
